Although CamerAlert has previously been quite stable, since updating to iOS6.1 yesterday it keeps quitting.

5 times within the first 15 minutes of my journey this morning and then I just left it off.

Mine ran OK all day yesterday (close to ten hours).

Maybe delete and redownload/install the app?

iOS6.1 only became available yesterday evening - which version of iOS were you running CamerAlert with?

As stated, I had no problems with stability with earlier iOS versions.

I have been running all 5 of the iOS 6.1 beta versions and have not seen this behaviour at all.

I would agree with Dennis and try and delete and reinstall of the app.

It was about 3am Tuesday actually ;)

Valid question though, Dennis - have you updated to iOS 6.1?

...have you tried CamerAlert with the public release of iOS6.1 though?

Yes I am now running the public version and haven't had any issues today or yesterday.

Crash logs do eventually filter back through to us via Apple but to speed things up can you locate them and send us them?

You need to sync your iDevice with iTunes and then locate the logs folder:

Mac:
~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>

Vista/7/8:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/<DEVICE_NAME>

The log will be called something like: CamerAlert_2012-07-10-122517_MaFts-iPhone4.crash

but with the date of your crash and the name of your device Smile

Can you send them to us at team AT pocketgpsworld.com

I didn't send you a text message asking how to do it because I didn't think you'd be awake that early - so I struggled (but successfully!).

You might try a restore. It's not uncommon for odd issues like this to be caused by the Delta OS update. A restore forces an install of the full OS update. It's a pain but given you have the issue and no-one else does (as yet) it's worth a try?

Hi,

Newbie here, but long time Iphone CamerAlert user.

I have experienced the same problem as GPS_Fan.

Upgraded to ios 6.1 (On Iphone 4) and app now crashes every couple of minutes. Tried the obvious stuff of Iphone reset and delete and reinstall of app with no luck.

I'm on the road for the next few days, so can't sync with itunes unfortunately.

Will watch with interest how GPS_fan gets on.
