|

I normally set my 1005 so that voice guidance is "OFF" by default. this is simply because I use my device more for traffic information and traffic cameras than actual navigation unless I'm in a strange area. However I have noticed of late that everytime I update my device to receive mapshare updates, it resets the voice guidance to "ON". It's not a major issue, but I'm sure it didn't do it before. unfortunately, I can't remember exactly when it happened.
Anyone out there had the same experience and if so is there a solution other than manually altering the preferences fter each update?

Are you sure it's happening on updates which involve Mapshare only?
I've heard several reports of it happening after a NAVCORE update (which might happen at the same time as a MapShare update), but can't think why just a MapShare one should have anything to do with the voice settings. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I too have voice guidance disabled by default but have noticed that voice guidance is re-activated if I do a soft reboot. I am using a Live 1000 _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |

Well it's whenever I get the trio of updates that normally comes weekly, i.e.
Mapshare
Premium Carmeras
GPSquickfix.
I normally deselect the second two as I beleive they are already delivered over the air, so I normally only download mapshare.
I've tried a softboot, which of course does reset the voice activation. I am not absoultely sure when this issue began, but it might have been after the last Navcore update, but I am really unsure. |
