In answer to your first 2 points, please see my earlier post above
Ok, I've waded my way back through your previous posts and can't find where you said that you have tried our iGO database.
Edit. Sorry, yes you did in your first post. In what way does it not work? Does it display cams or does it lock up the device, or what? Honest, I'm trying to help.
The second point was to explain how iGO is directional and what directional means. It does not mean that the cam shows up on the 'correct side' of the road.

Good idea! Hopefully one of the admin will oblige....

I'm sorry too! A misunderstanding common with 'email'. You are actually being very helpful , and I'm keen to 'crack' this one with your (and all) help!
Here's that screenshot I promised:
To answer your 2 questions:
1. I downloaded and tried to install iGo (for the B200) on my 928 and I did not get very far. Once I pressed 'OK' to confirm that I was sure I wanted to update the database, the unit froze after the button press. I think it looked at the data format and was completely stumped!
2. Could you explain what "Directional" means, I clearly have got it wrong

Opps! I should have checked the Stickys too; sorry

"Directional" is slang for the way the camera points. Most SatNavs only allow you to specify where the camera is, not which way it works/points. The result is that you get a warning even if the camera is only active for the opposite direction of travel.
Directional is something the owners of Garmins and TT's would love to crack with third party POI camera databases. _________________ Satnav:

My comment was really aimed more at Andy_P than you, Robert, since he seems to have forgotten that he wrote the sticky. _________________ Anita

This often happens on forums But now we're square

thanks, but it doesn't help a lot. I was hoping thet the 'look and feel' might identify it. I have found the blurb about it on the internet with more pictures ans that does'nt realy help either.

2. Could you explain what "Directional" means, I clearly have got it wrong
Let me have another go. Supposing a road is running due east/west and a Gatso type camera is on it with its camera face pointing to the west. Because it's a Gatso, it traps you from behind when travelling in a westerly direction (heading). It won't trap you if you are travelling east.
A non directional system will give an audible alert to you the cam regardless of whether you are traveling in an easterly or westerly direction.
A directional system, such as iGO will only audio alert you to the cam if you are travelling in a westerly direction.
To do this, iGO needs to know the direction in which the cam traps (not pointing, because Gatsos trap from behind as you have passed them and Truvelos normally trap as you are approaching them)
The 'normal' iGO database has the direction of the cam in decimal degrees such as (for our westerly trap above) 270. If you are not travelling within about 45 degrees of 270, then it will not alert. However, 'your' version of iGO (if that's what it is, and I'm pretty certain that it is) seems to have the direction encoded in hexadecimal (hence the letters in the number) and in most instances of the sample that you have given us a conversion correlates reasonably accurately between what you have given us and cams in our database.
Can you connect your computer to the Alpine and show its filing system? If so we can tell you what an iGO file layout looks like. If our suspicions are correct, it would not be difficult to convert the decimal heading in the present iGO database to the format required for your version of the Alpine.
The only problem here is that we need to know if a database so modified actually works on your system and the only way of doing this is to produce the values for a couple of your 'local' cams and you see if these (a) load OK and (b)road test them to see if they are working correctly. You can't do a simulated route because iGO does not alert for cameras on a sim route (they always show on the map though)
EDIT:

From where did you download it? I can't find a ref to this on our list of downloads, but perhaps I am missing something as I often do.

I've been out and about in the car today trying to asnswer some of the questions.
First, the scdb camera database does not seem to be directional, because I passed the same camera in Balham High Road both ways and it bleeped at me on both occasions.
Strangely, the option "When Approaching" for Speed Alerts has dissapeared (not greyed out, but Gone! This change happened when I found the audible alerts had were muted, so I un-muted them and lost the option. (Re-muting did nothing). I therefore have, with the scdb database a choice of visual or visual &audible, but only with "When Speeding".
I know the 928 is a complicated piece of kit (though easy to use), but I'm puzelled all the same.
I took some photos as requested, but I don't know they will help at all:
The last pic is from an ,exefile and shows waht many have suspected all along. Namely my Alpine uses iGo, "Primo" version, and therefore of NNG origin.
I downloaded the UK cameras only from the scdb database in an attempt to make things easier? -:
I also created two Alert Points and travelled between them, but I have failed to download the database. I get a blank SD card. I've formatted, and prepared it, but still no success.
I will post again shortly, hopefully with the coordinates of a local camera.
Got PC problems so need to re-boot...

The last screenshot gives it away a bit Our iGO database should run ok on it. I have tested it on Primo and it works just fine. I have sent you a Private Message.
You say that the PGPSW database locks it up, but does the SCDB database actually work on your device or not?

Yes it certainly looks that way.
I will need to test the PGPSW Alpine database tomorrow.
In the meanwhile I've been out in my car again and here are the coordinates of a camera in Upper Tooting Park Road London SW17
N51° 26.344' W0° 9.378. I parked the car by it!. Problem is that the person recording the position was probably 50 yards away? Anyway, the best I can do.
I have also put the scdb UK database (all 5711 lines of it) in to Excel and sorted it in accending numbers. Here's a taste:
I've put the best match I could find at the top. But it's still way out
I'll have another go at driving between 2 Alert Points (that are in a northerly direction) tomorrow. I seem to have had some 'SD card trouble' today. Seems the 928 is picky about its cards

The top one in your list is not it. There are cams closer to that. You have got Degrees, mins mixed up with decimal degrees.
The correct decimal conversion to your cam above is 51.43918,-0.15618.
Do you mean Tooting Bec Road? If so, we don't have a cam on that road. The nearest one is on Balham High Road at Latitude: 51.43920 Longitude: -0.15622, single direction trapping travelling North
