Well, somebody has already deleted another few earlier plications, but this seems to only be a oneplication. Must have been something fishy with that other browser. _________________ Dennis

It's a great browser for normal desktop replication, but clearly not good in forums _________________ Cheers

Hi,
this may be a stupid question but is there any reason why your app cannot be converted to a satnav in itself?
I have recently used an app called 'M8' which is free and wiil initially download the route you wish to take. Any long deviations incur a small data download this app also has a speed camera database installed although probably not as up to date as camera alert.
It would seem to make sense to allow your app to plan routes as well as warning of impending camera locations. M8 updates itself on a regular basus. I assume for camera updates.
Many thanks
Mark

Anyone? |

If, however, you are running CamerAlert in the foreground, the buttons will show (once you are close enough to the mobile to actually see it), and they will work. There is no option to disable this function. |
Thanks for the update. I listen to music in background so it would be would be great at some point if there was an option to avoid the ping. |

Not a stupid question. But a navigation app is a very different beast altogether. We use the maps provided to us in Android and iOS and they don't currently permit navigation, only the display of maps. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I would also think most regular SatNav users would want to use an App that stores the maps on the device. _________________ Cheers

For one, I only use Google Maps & Navigation now (on a phone) and with CamerAlert. Works fine and being on an 'unlimited' data plan I even use satellite image mode when navigating sometimes - it's quite cool.
If I go out of 3G coverage, it seems fine (albeit without maps detail) so long as I don't go the wrong way requiring a re-route. But being in the south coverage is good for me. Benefits outweigh the disadvantages for me. I use it regularly but maybe I'm not in the 'most regular users' demographic ;-) |
