Well guess what ? I realized that I bought a small sat nav device a short while ago and when I looked at the software on it, it was iGO so I copied it onto my SD card and hey presto it works, the only thing is that it had the logo of the other device when loading so I created my own welcome and goodbye logos saved them as *.bmp files unzipped the branding file replaced the loading and exiting files and re-zipped it so now I have my own welcome and goodbye screens. Have I done anything illegal !!!

Regards

Kevin

Possibly. It depends a lot on wher you got the original satnav from and whether iGO was properly licenced on it. I am led to believe that most imports from China et.al. have rip off copies of iGO on them. As to copying from one device to another, the 'legal' iGO has code embedded to prevent it being copied as I don't think that they alow it. This on it's own would make me suspicious of the 'legality' of the original S/W. Sad
