Just got home from our extended stay in the Stratford area - the wife didn't spend too much on her own and we were fortunate with the weather!! Thanks to all from PGPSW and others for an enjoyable and informative afternoon on Saturday.
I've now got a better idea of what Sat Nav system to go for and shall be taking the plunge very soon. It seems there is still a fair bit down to personal preference but at least I now know a bit more of what's available and some of the potential pitfalls.
Thanks again to all.

I'm glad everyone that attended found it a very useful day. The biggest problem we're going to have now is topping the last one, seeing that each event we hold is better than the previous one! |

One within 150km of Newcastle would be good - North, South or West (East might be a bit dicy though unless you hold it on the Amsterdam ferry ) |

I understand that The GlobalSat SD-501 GPS receiver is compatible with iPaq 1930.
I understand also that it used the SD plug to be connected with the iPaq.
What I don't understand is how can I connect the storage card (SD) so as to store the maps for the GPS.
Thanks

Emanuel, I know very little about the GlobalSat SD GPS, but AFAIK it doesn't have any storage space. The GPS is taking up the function of the SD slot with and doesn't come included with any storage, so that would mean that if you only have a single storage slot you can only install small maps to main memory. |

I have confirmed with Mike who is writing the review on the SD GPS and it does have no on-board memory, so although you can use it in a 1930, you won't have much space for map storage. It really excels if you have a dual-slot PDA. |
