|
|
Hi,
About 18 months ago my TomTom Go 520 was stolen from my car.
I also owned the Traffic RDS-TMC cable and have just found it in my car boot.
As it's getting near Christmas, I though I'd put the cable on eBay but before I do, I just wanted to make sure this service is still current and that if someone buys it, they'll get traffic updates when they plug it in
I don't want to sell something that is obsolete.
It looks like the one here http://tinyurl.com/brpxdv
Please can someone confirm it'll work?
(I know the service was pretty flaky when I used it, but when it did work it was helpful.)
Thanks in advance of any replies. |

On the cable near the plug should be a white label with the part number on, if it ends .013 then the device is a good one, the earlier numbers weren't very good in terms of reception, .010 was better than the useless .001 - Mike |

The system is still working and your cable (if it looks the same as the one in the eBay ad.) will work on older models that have the round connector for the antenna.
Later models use the same USB connector for the RDS Traffic data as for the power supply, so you EITHER have an antenna with a USB input that the original charger goes into and a USB plug to supply data and power to the unit, OR you have a combined antenna and power supply. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Having gone through 3 of the round aerial type antenna's for a 730 GO, they work for a year or so then mine just packed up.
I recently bought a combined in car psu cable and antenna that plugs into the USB port, Got to say it searches and finds the updates far quicker and looks to be far more robust.
By the way didn't buy this from the TomTom site for the £40 but for £20 new including P&P on eBay. _________________ Tom Tom 730 |
