|

Hi
I have a map guarantee until January 2014. However, when I go into MyTomTom on their website, it only shows the map version 895 which is on my TomTom 120 Via and no upgrade. I have been in touch with their support and did the following on my PC:-
Charge battery:
Reset your device:
Clear Cache
Logout from the website
Delete the browser's cache (Firefox)
Close MyTomTom
Start up MyTomTom again
Login with the MyTomTom account.
Connect the TomTom to the computer and install the updates (or not as the case was)
I tried loading myTomTom onto a Mac and seeing if that made any difference (I normally use a PC and Firefox). No success!
I then uninstalled Mytomtom from the PC and cleaned the registry, appdata and program files. Restarted the system and did a clean install of a new copy of the application. This time I used Chrome as the browser. It still shows that the latest map available is 895.
Any ideas please?
Many thanks,
Allan |

Are you **sure** you are not logging in with an email address used for a different device? _________________ David |

Absolutely positive!
However, I have been in touch with TomTom and there is an issue with the Via series and map version 900 that they are aware of and trying to sort out.

So that's actually ANOTHER issue with MyTT and the Via....
Some people ARE being offered the new map, but MyTomTom cannot install it to the internal memory over the top of the old map. People are having to buy uSD cards to put it onto. (or wait!) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Wonder whether the suggestion we've seen elsewhere to uncheck the 'cache large items' might work to actually install the map???? _________________ David |

They have got back to me and sorted out the problem. However, I now have the whole of Europe as opposed to Western Europe and the issue with space has caused a problem. Having said that, the person I spoke with was highly efficient and got back to me with a fix within 1/2 hour. |

What was the fix they suggested, Allan? Buy an SD card? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

No, they tweaked the account so that the full Europe 900 map showed as being available as a download which it didn't before. I only have the Western Europe one normally. I think it is a problem with the Via series and the Western Europe map. The increased size of the map won't fit on the unit. Luckily I had a spare SDHC card in a draw (as one does!).
Deleting the cache made no difference nor did using another computer or a complete exorcism of MyTomTom and the drivers.

Same problem with start25, when I log on to My TomTom it says 4 new items available but when I click download it tells me my device is up to date, even the same with the map. Mine is v885 1/2012. sent 5 emails rang support about 20 times no reply to any. Glad I bought it from Qvc I have until mid January to send it back for a full refund and they will pay P&P.
