I have just today tried to download the latest free POI and after saving to My Documents, then 'extract all files'' most files are coming up with a box saying 'PASSWORD REQUIRED' 'Enter Password'
If these are free why is there a password required and what is it. I have never needed before ( since 2009 ) so why now?

Nothing has changed as far as the POIs are concerned.
To be able to help we'll need a little more information.
What OS is the PC using?
What program are you using to Extract the files? Is that program giving the Password prompt, or the OS? How are you extracting?
What type of file are you downloading? OV2, csv, etc.
Has anything changed since 2009? Different PC; upgraded OS. _________________ Richard

We've never password protected our zip files. Are you sure it is ours you are trying to open?

Hi there - I do not know what went wrong there, but I kept getting this Password Protected every time I downloaded the Free POI from this site.
However for the last attempt I deleted all the information I had in the past downloaded from the PGPSW site, then reinstated the information as below. This information then transferred seamlessly to the Garmin Zumo. Whatever had happened previously I cannot at this time work out but will wait with anticipation of having more fun next week!
OS used - XP Sp3, Office 2007 , using the download facility on the PGPSW site - .csv files - use XP to extract files to My documents, then do same with Gatso files then POI Uploader to Garmin Zumo. - no further hardware changes since 2007. |
