Hi all,
I recently purchased a BTGP-38KM GPS Datalogger to record my walking routes. The software that came with it will not run on my Win 7 64 bit PC, but so far I have been able to view my tracks on Memory Map using the free GPS Babel application. However I cant find a way of altering the configuration of the datalogger. Does anyone know of software that will enable me to do this? |

No I havent tried that. Will give it a go
Just tried it...
The GPS Track Tagger fails in Win 2000 compatibility mode just the same. Symptoms are:
Tools - Options set COM: to 8 (as per bluetooth devices in control panel) - ok
then on re opening options COM is blank. It does not seem to remember my setting.
File - Read track - It says "start to validate GPS device" then "failed to validate GPS device"
It seems to be communicating in some sense or other with my datalogger as its BT blue LED flashes less frequently when trying to read the track.
The other software on disk supplied is BlueSoliel 2.6.0.8 release 070517. This fails to install - it comes up with Error 183
Still stuck - any more ideas? |

Having recorded a few more individual tracks, it has become apparent that they seem to be all added together when I access the data using GPSbabel. How do I clean off the device?

I have a Qstarz Q1000X logger which seems to be similar to your logger.
I run MTKBABEL on the command line in Linux to download logs, clear logs and set the logging parameters.
Since MTKBABEL is a Perl script, there are probably ways to run it under windows. |

This is a bit scary for me, since if it cant be done with a few clicks of the mouse, I usually give up. Any suggestions anyone? I am on Win 7 64bit |

I have just discovered that GPSBabel has an option to delete the track file once it has been downloaded from the device, so that makes the device useable. I can now see eack track individually on memory map.
I still seem to be unable to alter the devices configuration, even with the latest BlueSoleil software, but the default settings seem ok to me.

Hi all
Has anyone out there been able to alter the configuration of this device from a Windows 7 64bit PC? I would very much like to know which software can be used for this. |
