|
|
Greetings all!
I am looking to replace my trusty 930T with something that has HD Traffic. The obvious first choice was a GO LIVE 1005 World, but I have read a number of less than inspiring comments about it.
Would I be better off searching for an earlier model second hand?
All advice gratefully received as always. Thanks. |

TomTom Outlet store has GO750 Live Refurbished with 1 year free Live Services.
It's unlikely to have the latest map and the battery may need to be replaced. It's Europe, not including USA and you'll need a micro SDHC card if you want to upgrade to the full Europe map. _________________ Dennis

Dennis,
thanks very much for the quick reply. Am I correct in thinking that the 750 is pretty similar to the 930, but with a bigger screen and LIVE services? Does connect to your PC and use TomTom home in the same way rather than the web based service associated with the latest models?

Same size screen, live Services, same old TT Home on your PC. The noticeable difference is really only the windscreen mount which is better - you can dismount it with one hand. _________________ Dennis

Thank you Dennis. How long does it typically take for LIVE services to download the traffic info after you switch the TT on? |

On a good day, seconds. On a bad day, forever. Really, there has been a lot of debate here, better you have a good read around. _________________ Dennis

My go1005 on the latest public firmware gets HD traffic fully downloaded in around 10/15 seconds from the main map screen being displayed.
Sometimes it takes a little longer at peak times but this is maybe 5% of the time.
