Hi,
I connected my TT1005 this morning to update my PGPSW Cameras, plus any other bits that TT push down.
When I started driving I noticed I was no longer getting a warning as I drove towards my local Gatso, I checked the unit all the warnings had been removed, I had to set them all up again, being as I use the speedzoned ones this takes a considerable amount of time.
I then also noted that my Home location had been removed as well!
Has anybody else had this issue?
Thanks in advance for any replies,

I have noticed this on occasion with Nav3 devices I have access to. It's almost as if the mapsettings.cfg file (which we no longer have access to) in the map folder has gotten corrupt for no reason.
Are your 'recent destination' and 'favourites' still there? _________________ David |

Used to happen to me a lot on my old 750 after a major update, but has also happened a couple of times on my 1005.
I now have all "my favourites" in a separate POI file. Doesn't touch them now. _________________ Tom Tom 1005 v2 World, Garmin Dakota 20, IPhone 4S |

Don't forget, the Favourites can be exported / saved to your PC as a standard POI file now too. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Hi All,
Thanks for all the replies, does anyone know how to stop this happening in the 1st place?
it's really annoying to have to input all the warnings, home location etc?
thanks in advance,

If only!
On the old models we could advise to keep a "spare" copy of the MapSettings.cfg file somewhere else on the TomTom (i.e. not in the map folder) so you could just copy it back in if the main copy ever got corrupted.
But now we have no access to anything like that.
All we can do is make sure TomTom are definitely made aware that the problem still happens and there's no way for us to correct it any more.
Send them an email about it, and I'll mention it too. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I had this also but for the very first time. I had also been doing some general tyding up by deleting some old outdated POIs and adding new PGPSW POIs so I assumed that it was due to me "messing about" a little. I will however check over the next few Thursday updates and see if it happens again.
