I have just bought a GS1200 which came with a Garmin Street Pilot 2610 Sat Nav. The satnav is not on the bike at the moment, and needs to be fitted into the cradle which is fitted to the fairing.

To secure the satnav I need a Garmin Street Pilot Security Key - it looks like a 'torx' wrench but is actually a bit different.

Unfortunately, when I contacted Garmin they said they do not sell them and cannot recommend anyone who does. They recommended a search on a forum like this one.

Has anyone got one I can buy? Or recommend where I can get one.

I am not very happy that an old, but expensive and functional piece of kit may be obsolete because I cannot locate this key.

Please help!!!

Do you have the picture of the socket that the key fits into?

Perhaps it's a standard key that someone here recognises and can give you a official name to search for?

I will try to get a picture but it is very tiny. I thought it was a T10 Torx key - but it is different.

Thankyou Oldboy - they look just the job!

I am afraid the photos were terrible - the security pin was just too tiny.

I have placed an order with Maplin, so fingers crossed.

Following on from the above; I went to Wiki;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx

It looks like the one I want is called a 'Security Hex' or 'pin in Hex'. There is a picture on the above page.

I believe they are included in the set on the way from Maplin (33pc, £9.99), although I now realise that I could have got a set for half that on Ebay.

Oh well - so long as it works!

or perhaps 'Centre-pin type hex bits: 5/64, 3/32, 7/64, 1/8, 9/64 and 5/32'. Wink
