I'm sure this is a bit of a numpty question, but does anyone know why it takes a ridiculous time of over an hour to download the latest map (now N Eur 8.95 - approx 2gb) when available? Other downloads can rocket through but Tom Tom always seems to forever.

Think yourself lucky you're getting them in around an hour!
One of my v895 Europe map downloads took nearly 8 hours! (that's on a Virgin 20-30MB connection) _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Took me 6 minutes approx. IIRC.
I was well chuffed. It's the first major download since I upgraded from VM 10meg to 60meg BB. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Took me 2 hours on an average 7Mb download connection.
No Virgins out in the sticks, but BT FTC is possible here. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

It took 8 hours for mine to download on a 10 Meg connection. It's not the speed of the line, it's the servers pumping out the update which seem slow. |
