Hi, this is my first attempt at joining the forum although read stuff on here but can't find an answer. Does anyone know when the poi's on this site will be suitable for the snooper ventura, i ditched TomTom for the motorhome version for safety but there are poi's that are useful and are not on the Snooper. eg pub food etc. Thanks

I'm not sure that it's a question of when the PGPSW POIs become available in the right format, but more a matter of whether the Snooper can accept user-POIs at all.

Looking back through a few forum posts (Search all terms - "Snooper POIs") they certainly didn't used to at all.
Does it mention adding custom or user POIs anywhere in the manual?

Hi Andy, no mention at all in manual, in fact the manual is poor as far as user friendly. It's been a case of trial and error, mostly error as the menu is not very clear as there are 3 different catagories for POi's and the user poi's are the one's that you have downloaded from snooper. I was curious if there was a way to change the files to upi but it seems not.

hi kels, a quick Google search looks like it is not possible. Several people have the same quest but have failed.

Despite several efforts, this WildCamping topic confirms it's a no-go. Sad

Thanks very much for looking perhaps one day Snooper will catch up? The best I can do is look on Tomtom and get the co-ordinates then put into Snooper to prevent small lanes etc. Thanks again. Smile

I spoke to a Snooper representative at a show at the NEC some 3 or 4 years ago and they weren't interested in letting people upload sets of POIs (as opposed to adding individual ones).

As regards "small lanes etc." have they finally created a comprehensive database themselves or do they still just rely on legal orders to work out roads which are too narrow?

I bought the Ventura for the motorhome, but you can't put your own POIs on it. If you send in a list to Snooper, they'll convert it if they feel it might be useful to all users. I sent it back and bought the truck maps on SD card for my TomTom 930, it was cheaper than the Ventura in any case and much more flexible.
