iPhone 4S 5.1.1 Jailbreak already
the previous is quite good, but after upgrade to 1.3.6, and close it to background, there's no voice alert, only popup a window to alert cameras.
I checked the settings, all are the same as before, and I noticed there's new menu : Voice route, I don't know how to choose......
and for the voice level lock, what's the meaning of lock? It changed when I change the system volume. |

A fix for the audio issues has been submitted to Apple for review.
Not sure what you mean by the 'voice level lock'?

When you click the Notes icon on the main screen the lock is on the left eiftar the volume bar.
Doesn't seem to do anything. |

Ah, that locks the iPod controls in place. Normally they disappear after a few seconds but if you tap the lock then they stay on the screen so you can see the track name and skip tracks etc.

OK, waiting for the patch.
This morning I have a test on 1.3.6 on the way way to office:
when cameralert is running as active process, it alert well;
But I press Home button and want it's running in background, I found it will not work at all, nothing happens when I approch a camera; and when I active it, the cameraalert will locate the position again. and the "prevent suspend" is seclected.
can I downgrade to the previous release?

The only way you could do that would be to delete the app from your phone and hope that iTunes has an older version backed up that hasn't been updated that you could copy back onto it.

I find it sends the old version to the Recycle Bin so you may be able to recover it from there! |

Completely out of our hands I'm afraid. Depends how busy Apple are. Sadly as we're not Rovio they won't push through a bug fix in a matter of a few hours...

I'm experiencing the same problem, however I found today that it will give you voice alerts under certain circumstances. I run Camera alert so it automatically starts the TomTom app. With TomTom running if you press the home button then the Camera Alert icon so it brings Camera Alert to the front you get the TomTom voice navigation instructions and the Camera Alert voice warnings as you used to before 1.3.6. Unfortunately if you go back to TomTom being on screen the camera voice alerts stop working again. Lets hope this gets fixed soon.[/u] _________________ TomTom and Sygic app on my iPhone. After a hopeless time trying to get get support on the CamerAlert website (email bounces and says use form, Capta verification never succeeds) I sat down and figured out how to make things work.
What I noticed was two fold:
a) you get a sample audio played back if you move the slider in Setup | Warnings
b) if you flip to TomTom while audio is playing in CamerAlert then it gets hosed in CA
Steps I used to workaround (others probably vary):
Settings
=====
1) Ensured volume isn't zero before inserting into my dock, utterly unconvinced TT plays nice with its volume slider when docked otherwise.
2) Changed my "CA: Setup: On startup also run" to a manual config of "tomtomhome://europe" as TT wouldn't start with CA (I think as I have both US and EU installed).
3) Set "CA: Setup: Warnings: Audio route" to ::note:: symbol.
4) Set "CA: Setup: Warnings: Music control" to "Fade".
5) Bash the "CA: Setup: Warnings: Relative warning volume:" slider at max. If I don't hear any thing, terminate CA using double-click-home, hold app, badge symbol etc. Re-run CA and test audio again.
Normal Use
========
1) Ensure volume isn't zero, then dock
2) Run CA, this starts TT
3) Double-click-home and flip back to CA
4) Press "CA: Setup: Warnings: Relative warning volume:" slider at max to ensure audio working
5) Double-click-home and flip back to TT
All seems good. I suspect any audio settings would work, but that's how I've been doing it as a) that's what I wanted and b) I'm too jaded now to faff around any deeper.
Fingers crossed the new CA fixes all of the problem. |

I have no idea where I stand with the cameralert app now which is really upsetting.
It was by far the best and most useful app on my phone but I don't have confidence in it at the moment.
I was really excited about the idea of warnings over bluetooth so updated when it came out.
I chose this configuration in settings and found that my phone does interrupt the music and the car believes a call is coming in but I get no audible message.
I know this is a known problem so was pleased to see the update appear today.
I downloaded this and tried again and the same situation exists.
Can someone explain clearly what the problems are that are trying to be fixed as I have rear posts relating to issues with running in the background and having to restart the app after closing it down.
I haven't yet tried it but I assume if I revert the sound to just conventional audio output when directly connected to the car, it will function as it used to, regardless of the app running in the fore or background.
Is this not the case? |

background audio is now fixed.
i'm not aware of any issues with the bluetooth audio - Paul_B has tested with his ioPLay setup, which uses A2DP protocol, and that works fine.

Adamantium
Does your hardware support A2DP? Or is it using hands free protocol HFP??
Have you tried turning the volume up when it tried to play an alert??
What hardware are you using?
As MaFt says 1.3.8 works with BT again in the background, foreground, with music playing from iPhone over A2DP at the same time with TomTom iPhone app too..... |
