I Might be wrong here, but I seem to recall something about NiMH batteries having a lower voltage, something like 1.3 rather than 1.5 of normal batteries or Lipols. And the Satmap doesn't work well if the voltage isn't high enough.

Do people use NiMHs successfully?

Could well be true but they appear to be the same rechargeable battery that SatMap recommend and are selling from their own shop.

That is a good price for Energiser 2500. I have been using their 2650 recently (around £8.50 / 4 pack) and find them ideal for use with my Active 10.

A fully-charged 2500 set would be plenty for a 15 mile day walk in power save mode too. A bargain at that price.
