I'm sure Mike will be able to tell you the most recent model, but I don't think any "recent" TomTom models have them, certainly not since the x40 range came out in 2008. _________________ Jock

For TomTom x30 range was the last one that made the external aerial an option, the x40 and x50 did bring the connection out of the device through the multiway connector on the base but TomTom never offered a mount that gave access to these pins.
Not too sure on the Garmin front but I know my 3790T doesn't have the connection point for an external GPS feed.
Why do you think you need an external aerial though, the modern units are quite capable of accquiring a signal indoors let alone in a car, they are far more sensitive these days than they used to be - Mike |

i ask because of vehicles with the heat reflecting coating on the windscreens stops some GPS equipment working
when i worked for the AA my tomtom wouldnt work inside the Renault Traffic Van
the installed Sat nav had a roof mounted external atenenna so it was ok
i want a unit i can transfer from vehicle to vehicle safe in the Knowledge it will work regardless of windscreen
ps the unit is a Go Live 540 circa 2009
As was the Reno it had the thermo screen because it had aircon
you can tell the vehicles with the heat reflecting screen they have a light red(pinkish ) Hue to them
the Coating is metalic hence the GPS Problems
Thanks
Peter
