But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

Given that the mobile site is storing our favourite POI groups (using cookie(s), black magic or whatever), is there any way that info can be used to pre-fill the POI's selection on the Download page? I find the process of going through the sub categories, i.e. expanding the category, selecting the sub categories, contracting the category & moving on to the next, somewhat tiresome! And I only download 41 subcategories - just done that and it's taken exactly 10 mins! Not long I know, but enough to put me off doing it on a weekly basis. In fact, the last time I did it was December! _________________ Jock

Now that PGPSW has the mobile POI site running, the download of updated POIs to the SatNav should perhaps be done more often.
Anything to make this easier would be greatly appreciated, especially if any limits (such as the current 20 categories) could be increased.
Just to be awkward (good job that you know me ) is it possible to set up an Include and Exclude sort of script? For example: Most of my downloaded POIs are sub categories (i.e. Land Rover Dealers, Little Chef, MacDonalds, etc) but one or two are categories some with exceptions (i.e. the whole of Attractions except CountryShows). Any chance that you could set this sort of thing up?

Unfortunately, as the POI files are created 'on the fly', the 20 subcategory limit is unlikely to be easily solved.
When the system was first designed, numerous ways/methods were tried to overcome this problem. It is something to do with the structure of the OV2s and the way that the server has to handle the data. I'm afraid that's all I know. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the explanation.
I hope that MaFt is able to do his magic so that we can have custom downloads of the POIs.
I had to go to Swindon via the A420, the other day, and noticed that the Little Chef at Buckland (Post Code SN7 8PY) had shut, although it was still on my old version of the PGPSW Little Chef POI. So the next time I had time on the computer I went to the PGPSW POI page to report the shut Little Chef, I found that it had already been updated!
So the ability to download POI categories would help keep the POIs on my SatNav as up-to-date as the Speed Camera database.
