Hi
Just notice on 9.430 if you go over the speed limit by 10% the box on the bottom left turns red. Not seen that on other app revisions. Can that be disabled so it just shows speed? If so how? _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

Sorry, you can't. It's built into the application to flash like that. _________________ David |

Thanks David - It's a bit distracting, not that I go over the speed limit you understand. _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

If you really can't put up with it, the only effective response I've read is to stick a piece of opaque tape over it. Nice to put technology in its place.... _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

At what speed does it start to flash? I've seen it turn red but on my 940 that's all it does. |

It's always red on my GO1000, and at less then 10% over the speed limit. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

The things I do in the name of research.
If you knew how hard it is to get my car to go over the speed limit, you'd thank me!
BTW.... I've never seen it "flash". It's either off or on. And it was always an option on all my devices. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Nor have I seen it flash either. I guess, stretching a point here, the first time the red colour appears, one could refer to it as 'flashing' but that's about it....... _________________ David |

Possibly if you were consistently slightly over or under the trigger point [34mph in a 30 mph zone], it would seem like it was 'flashing'? _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

No, it's got quite a hysteresis... Once it has gone red, you need to reduce speed below the threshold for a couple of seconds before it turns back to normal again, and the "on" threshold is slightly higher than the "off" threshold.
Between the two of those, it stops the red patch from "flashing" wildly if you are on (or just above) the speed limit..
For once TT got it about right! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

To be fair, the OP never suggested that it flashes - his words were:

It was dhn who first introduced the term "flash", and then said he hadn't seen it. I think people have been side-tracked by a red herring! _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |
