All good here with GL 1000 after two recent updates and it was working well prior to updates with none of issues that have affected certain other devices. |

I was all set to take the plunge with the update and MYTT has now downloaded something else, unfortunately I can't see what it is under "view items" I opened it with notebook and there is a line of text about "keeping connection open"
Anyone any idea what this file does and whether it's safe to install? _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |

Update
Over the weekend I cleared the cache on my PC and downloaded and installed the "Mandatory" update onto my unit. Only to discover that what has actually been installed is 11.035, which has caused the inability to gain GPS fix without doing a soft reboot.
Is it correct that having cleared the cache from Mytomtom I still have to go through the pain of downloading each subsequent update until I get to the latest one? _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |

I think the only easy answer is "sometimes".
I've seen some updates via MyTomTom where it jumped straight to the latest version (skipping any you'd missed) and others where it needed to go through an intermediate stage.
Are you now being offered any more updates? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks for the reply Andy, elsewhere I am being told that having cleared the cache I should only be offered the latest file. Of course the only reliable source is this forum and yourself.
Yes I was offered each update one after another until I got to the latest version (just like Home does).
I have to say it works perfectly and, if anything, the screen response seems slightly quicker than before. So all is good at the moment. _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |

Cumulative updates.....
Something gets changed in one update, so is assumed to be present and correct on the next. If you skip straight to the last you miss the previous change. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
