Only in that Rotterdam (or Holland generally) area maybe?
Certainly the UK's OK (for now) |

Might be for you, justbrowsing... Not for me!
Whatever the reason for the outage, it is affecting SOME people and not others, even with the same model. I've got two identical models and it's affecting one and not the other.
But if this fire IS the real reason, I'd be very surprised. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I am running a Go Live 1000, it hasn't had either of the updates and has had no problem with GPS lock or loss of Live services!!!!
Coincidence?
I don't think so.
I don't buy this "fire at Vodafone" rubbish. _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |

In this day and age I would have thought that it would be fairly simple for any company in this situation to e-mail the affected customers that there was a problem and it was being "Sorted". This may stop people from trying to keep logging in and making the situation worse and also stop trying to repair their devices by "fiddling" with the settings.

Damn right Paul!
But considering how their servers fall over every time a new map gets released, a few extra emails might be the death of them! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

My 940 had the 148 error last evening at 1800 but was working again this morning. _________________ Malcolm

11.037 has been released by TT.
To do what?
I thought the problems with Live services were due to a fire at Vodafone? why would a new update resolve an issue caused by a fire. _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |

That release is for the GPS fix. Doesn't require the user to do a drum reset. _________________ David |

I thought that 11.036 was supposed to fix the GPS lock issue, but it's release coincided with the problems accessing Live services for some users
I haven't uploaded either of the previous updates and have had no issues with my 1000. I have no intention of uploading the "mandatory" one either until I am fully confident that it isn't going to lose me some functionality or other. _________________ Go 940 (deceased) Live 1000. |

11.037 is more of the same... call it a 'better' fix.

happens.... it's a coincidence.
If you believe that the fire in Rotterdam can affect SOME users but not others in the UK (and after doing some reading I'm now much more convinced than I was that it CAN) then the LIVE outage has absolutely nothing to do with any of these software updates for the GPS issue.

That of course is your prerogative.
But as this latest update will be "pushed" to your Go1000 as soon as you connect to the PC and allow MyTomTom to run, you'll either need to uninstall MyTomTom, or stop it auto-running on system start up.
How will you eventually be convinced?
If a few dozens of people on a forum say it's OK, is that enough?
------------
My Go that WASN'T affected by the Satellite lock issue but DID have the LIVE issue, was totally unchanged by the software fix.
But a day later my LIVE Services came back of their own accord.
To me that proves the SIM connection issue was nothing to do with software at all, either old or new. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

+1 from me, got the 11.037 on my GO1005 and had no issues with the GPS fix or LIVE services. _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE
