On my ONE v3 it was possible to change the order that items appeared in the menus.
Is it possible to do the same with my XL Live?
Also is there an Audi front screen available for the XL Live. I have one on my ONE but it the wrong shape!! _________________ Dave R (h5djr)

The custom menu facility was certainly still working on all the NAV2 TomTom models until the last software update. I HAVE seen one report from someone that it might have broken with the latest Navcore v9.43x software, but I've not seen it confirmed yet.
Someone needs to do some proper tests.

It's easy to make one yourself (or modify your existing one), if you have any "paint" program on your PC. Even the bundled "Microsoft Paint" found in "accessories" would do).
You just need to make your picture 480x272 pixels in size and save it in .bmp format called "splashw.bmp"
There's also the old Splash Screens topic, but it's not the easiest thing to search to find anything specific. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I have created a new file from the splash.bmp used on my ONE v3 and changed the size to 480x272 and copied into the route directory of the XL Live but all I get is a plain white splash screen.
When I originally looked at the XL Live there was no existing file called splash.bmp in the route directory. _________________ Dave R (h5djr)

Yes I have now and it has worked. Thanks everyone for your help.
In connection with changing the Menus, is there a way I can get a printout of the existing menu file before I attempt any changes. _________________ Dave R (h5djr)

Not sure about a print out but it's easy enough to take some screen shots, either by a digicam or by the TT itself if you have the Screenshot function set up. Failing that, good old pen & paper! _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Yes but it's the actual detailed file content that I'm after rather than the current layout on the screen, so that I can make some changes.
I've got one for my ONE but cannot remeber how I printed it out. _________________ Dave R (h5djr)

My XL Live has been updated to v9.43 and the use of the SdkRegistry method of changing the menus seems to be not working.
I just copied the SdkRegistry sub-directory from my ONE which is running 8.010 to the XL Live and all I get is a single menu with no ability to change to a different menu. _________________ Dave R (h5djr)

There's no way to "print out" the default menu because it doesn't exist. The normal menu layout is buried in the code, and it's only if you add a custom menu that a text file is used.
You must have printed out someone's own re-make as close as they could get to their original menu, but it can't have been complete because all the later additions to the standard menu (such as "Help me") do not have custom menu commands at all. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
