I didn't mean to belittle your issues "across the pond" dhn... I know you had some major problems with the TTS voices (what was the common word that was read as something completely different, I forget?)
I was just trying to reassure the OP that he didn't need to worry if he was already happy with what his TT was saying to him! _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

...... most of the 16 pages is actually about ways of changing the stupid way the Go devices read out road numbers "A one thousand seven hundred and ninety five" rather than the much quicker "A one seven nine five".
Works fine on my Go 540 unit (and the preceding Go 720) with the UK and Ireland map but there were issues with the Western European map (even when used in the UK) and that was never resolved to the best of my knowledge.
The change of the cphoneme never made any real difference to me and I wasnt aware that B road numbers werent read out!
It was all good fun "because we could"!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ TomTom Go 540 - V9.058, Map GB & Ireland 860.3101

Yeah, I though someone might pick me up on that... I meant "OP" as in "he who first asked the question I'm answering" rather than "he who wrote post #1"
Humble apologies.... _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I believe that I may have the solution to the WE map issue, but haven't had chance to work on it. Hopefully soon ... _________________ Go Premium X / Go 1005 |
