I have just purchased Tomtom 3 (wired) for my Orange Spv m1000, Have spent the last 2 days trying to get this thing to work, and am getting pretty desperate for help
I have installed the software and also regestered it in the process, screen came up saying that Tomtom is ready to be used, so promptly went out to car where I had all the receiver pluged in etc, the green light was on, on the receiver and all looking good.
Problem is, is that the screen keeps saying link is unreliable, and when I go into the GPS page the link that should be moving showing that it is searching etc is just faded and doing nothing ???
I have tried changing the port settings, leaving it setup for hours to see if it needed just time but I am getting nothing.
Have also wiped the software off of my palm top and tried installing again to see if this made a difference, but nothing changed.
Have tried the receiver in front of windscreen, on top of the roof and taken the car to a more open area, still nothing !!!
send an e-mail to TomTom's support section on the website, with details of the pda you are using. I had the same problem with an Ipaq 1940 sold from a certain big PC retailer, and it didn't have a serial port for wired gps, so could never have worked. I had to take it back and get a different PDA.
