Hi there,
I'm one of the guys who refuses to upgrade my navigator to a fancier one and instead sticks to my old and beloved GO 720. Smile

About a year ago I changed my car to a Volvo with an infotainment system supporting bluetooth audio streaming using the A2DP BT profile. This works great for streaming music from my iPhone but I haven't got it to work with my TomTom. I have tried to pair the navigator and the car from both sides but neither of them can detect the other one.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get this to work? According to the specs of the GO 720 it supports bluetooth audio streaming and the speaker menu has an option for this. Do I need to add some file on my TomTom in order for it to recognize the car?

Thanks in advance,
Ulf

Your car will only support a single device connected at any one time, if you have your iPhone in your pocket the car will grab that tying up its Bluetooth channel.
Make sure the Bluetooth on your iPhone is switched off then put the TomTom close to the Bluetooth aerial in the car, if you tell me what model and year of car it is I can locate this area using Vadis/ Vida, it should then pair correctly - Mike

Ah, I didn´t think of that! The car is a Volvo S60 MY2011 with the latest SW in the Infotainment system. I will try your trick and disable BT on my phone and see if it works!

Nope, still impossible to pair the TomTom with the car for BT audio streaming. Sad

I have tried to connect the audio output from the TomTom to the aux input of the car but that gives me a very annoying noice. Could it be solved with some filter on the cig power connector? I´m using the standard TomTom power adapter.

EDIT: Mike, did you find out where the BT aerial is located in my car?

You will need a Ground Loop Issolator in line between the 3,5MM audio out on the TomTom and the aux input to the Ovlov, this will remove the noise you can hear when connected via cables.

I will fire up the laptop in a minute and see if the BT system is covered although I am not too sure the copy I have is as recent as your car! - Mike

I had a similar problem but using a separate A2DP device connected via the Aux input ( older Volvo) . The issue is what devices TT sees.

Try this link and download the file.

http://www.nodomain.org/hififix.zip

Download from the link above, unzip that to the root of the TT, reboot
The programme installs on your TT and shows as an icon in the main menu (3rd page on mine)
The installation involves loading a cap file into the SDKRegistry folder and installing a new folder in the root called hififix. This new folder contains three files namely hififix, hififix.log and blueserver.

You run the prog once by tapping the icon and your TT should now recognize more BT audio devices than before.

Nothing seems to happen, but next time you to attempt to pair (using the speaker preferences menu) it will hopefully find the car head unit when it didn't before.

I cant claim any points for this - I found it on another forum some time ago - and it did / does work for me..
