Sorry if this has been answered before.
When I bought my TomTom 940 live back in 2009 it came with the maps of Europe and a separate map of USA pre loaded.
When I did my first map update it said that there was no room on my device for both maps so I took the USA map off and stored it on my HD.
I'm going to America next month and have bought a mini memory card so I can put the map back on. I have done this and can see / browse the map but was wondering if there would be any performance issues having software on device and map on memory card?
Thanks. |

I presume you mean a sdhc card, not a sd card???
Should work but get the fastest class card you can (class 6+). At least 4 gb in size. _________________ David |

It's an 8 GB Micro SDHC
Would it be better to install everything including operating system and UK/euro map on it? _________________ Tomtom 940 Live : VW RNS 510 |

Shouldn't be necessary. The unit will 'see' maps on the card as if the maps were installed on internal.
That said, if the card is really fast (class 10, maybe), it's possible that things will run somewhat faster if everything is on the card........ _________________ David |
