Anita, I think that they seem to have just removed some options and made them "on" anyway. I am not sure this is a bad thing. I'll be happy to use the new version so long as they can fix the 1008 bug.

@ Anita....
Re: the new layout.... I've been using the new layout for quite a while and originally I didn't like it either, but I DID soon get used to it and I actually think it's more logical now.
The navigation stuff is in the middle, where ALG stuff has always come up so it keeps it in the same place, and it groups all the things about what's happening NOW on he left and all the things about your destination on the right.
It also makes the screen layout the same as the NAV3 models, so if you're lucky enough to have one of each, it doesn't get so confusing when you switch between them

Re: the tick-boxes for what gets shown... I don't think you can compare what's available by a simple comparison between the two menu screens, because there are some items that are now ALWAYS shown on the status bar so they don't bother to give you a tickbox. Also, some new features like the BIG speed limit "roundels" only appear if you make room for them by un-ticking certain items. It's worth having a bit of a play!

Re: Not wanting the update, so not being able to get Mapshare updates etc.
There's a simple hack to stop "Home" auto-updating to the latest version, so you can still have the ability to untick the Navcore update and still get everything else.
I think it has been described on the forums before now, so have a search. If you can't find it, I'll see if I can dig out the details for you.
But I'd say, give the new version a try for a while, before you make your mind up. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

When planning a route from A to B, there is no longer the option of choosing Walking Route, so for me this so called update is a big step backwards. To get a walking route I have to first go into planning preferences, change to walking route and then plan the A to B, and have to remember to reset to Fastest Route afterwards.

Well spotted!
You might want to switch to "always ask" because the question gets asked in both "Navigate to.." and "Plan Route", but I agree it's yet another backwards step. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

If you use TT's safety cameras, setting up a warning time seems to have gone. You are now left with the default time - whatever that is?!
Edit: Been playing with a redlight camera. Just from trying to approach at constant speed and counting in my head the setting seems to be 15 secs.
Edit: but my tmc-rds on the 530 seems more stable so far. Before after some map browsing it could find it difficult to identify my position on the map. _________________ Mike R [aka Wyvern46]

Updated ok on 950 Live, only thing I noticed using today was that the maximum speed changes by road, afterfirst half hour driving my actual speed just froze and didnt adjust. been on and off between customer calls but actual speed just locks to a random speed and doesnt move again
Thanks for the link, David. I've installed HOME v2.7.6.2056 and changed the application.ini file to v10.00000, and it works! It threw up an error message when it checked for updates, but I ignored it, and I was able to untick the application update and just download the Mapshare corrections. Great! Thanks again.

Thanks, Andy. I'll keep it on the SD card and might give it another try. The trouble is I have to change a load of settings every time I remove the card and revert to the old app.

But I don't want, for example, "Time remaining" cluttering up the status bar. With the current time above the ETA I can quite easily calculate the time remaining for myself. I really do find the old status bar, with only the information I choose to display, much clearer, especially with my ageing (or rather aged) eyes.
And I don't have the option to show the direction, which I've found useful since they stopped putting that information on the compass.

Also after update have to click legal notice every time at start up. Unless there is a way to disable this that I haven't noticed.
That SHOULD only happen after a re-boot (eg after a software update), not after every start-up.
Are you sure it's happening on a normal switch on?
I'm using a 550 Live, and since installing 9.400 I get the legal notice displayed once after disconnecting from Home, but not then after every normal start-up.
It's not a great problem, just another little annoying quirk that TT has thrown at us.
