Update on Start 20 will not format SD Card

I have just done the update on my Start 20 and finally it appears to have the MicroSD card slot enabled.

I have a 128Mb MicroSD card which TomTom says must be formatted, but it appears not to be able to complete the format.

I have checked the card on my laptop and it appears to be OK.

Any suggestions please?

What causes you to say it doesn't appear to complete the format?

What were you planning to put on a 128 mb card, anyway? Not much room for an additional map.

The TomTom device shows the message "Unable to complete format, the memory card cannot be used"

I have done a bit of research and it would appear that the card has to be a minimum 2GB. Perhaps that is the problem.

I wasn't thinking of using such a small card, just trying it out now that it has finally been enabled by TomTom

I put an 8Gb mircoSDHC into my Via 120 and the format message popped up straight away. It took less than a minute to format and it all works well. Just downloaded my US map on to the card.

Bought a new 4gb card today.

Worked first time Very Happy

I'm guessing that it will only work on a minimum size card.
