|
|
To bring in the New Year with a bang we have a competition that is open to ALL forum members.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we have a Garmin Nüvi 2390, a Griffin smartphone window mount, a TomTom air vent mounting kit and a Lifetime Membership to our Speed Camera Database up for grabs.
Click here to view the competition page and to enter.
The competition is open as of now, one entry per forum member only. We'll announce the lucky winner as soon as we can after the competition closes at midday GMT on New Years Day. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Whoops....
I mis-remembered the exchange below between Anita and Darren, and thought THIS was the comp. that was open to "all". (i.e. mods as well).

Does "all" include moderators? |
Sadly not, but... we are looking at a draw for our Moderators AND Verifiers only. I should have more news on that next week |
So I entered... and I clicked on "send entry" just as my eyes flicked over the small print. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Can someone please check for me.
Thanks

Uh... you have! I have your email comp entry here.
I'd love to know how a few of you get this issue! Especially as you've answered correctly!!

Could you be logged in on a different computer and someone else entered with their credentials?

Just "entered" to check. Expect my entry to be deleted.
I tried hitting the button twice. It probably registered my entry on the first but the screen refresh possibly went with the second one. Odds are that anyone getting this message either is trying to enter more than once or it's just browser lag.

I think the issue is that when you enter, the same page is redisplayed with a note at the top of the page acknowledging the entry, but further down the page, under the How to Enter heading, the question is replaced with a message saying "You have already entered the competition" in red. Could this be causing a little confusion? _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

But you'd still have to have realised you had entered, i.e. selected an answer and pressed submit? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Yes, I saw the same thing. At the top in small blue text it says my entry has been accepted, while in the area of the competition it says in larger red text that I've already entered. No biggie, just a little confusing at first.
Happy New Year everyone! |

Yes same for me. Blue acknowledgement at the top, red message lower down the page. A bit confusing but that's all. |

Darren,
I think Chester meant they hadn't entered before; they were aware they had entered this time! The problem is the red message "you have already entered" appears meaning that you can't enter again because you're entry has just been accepted - but because it is in red it looks like an error message, and that this attempt has not been accepted because you entered previously. Perhaps if that part was blanked, or it just said thanks for your entry it would be less confusing?
Keep up the good work, Happy New Year to all when it comes,
Steve |

Same here. Confusing after a week of hard celebrating.

I'm also getting the blue acknowledgement at the top to say my entry has been accepted and the red message lower down saying I've already entered.
I previously entered the Christmas competition and have now entered the New Year competition, both only once. Question is, am I in the New Year competition? _________________ Frank |
