Andy, yes, that's the part I meant and I can confirm it was OK on the previous map version.

Thanks trooper.
Hopefully, TT will acknowledge it and get it corrected.

Hi everyone,

I've just upgraded my 750 LIVE map from 855.2885 to the latest 880.3812 to take advantage of the 25% discount and try out the 1 year map update service.

All seems to have gone correctly and I've now got a map green light in HOME. However, I have noticed a few odd things which I'd appreciate your views on.

1. My old map was called 'Europe_2GB' and was sitting in a folder of the same name on an SD card. The new map is called 'Europe' and despite the installation saying "installing to internal memory" installed it into the SD card folder called 'Europe_2GB'. Given that I can't see any reference to 'Europe_2GB' on TomTom's web site I assume this is correct?

2. With the 'Europe_2GB' map I had 'IQ routes' in the UK and Europe shown here :-

But since upgrading to the new map it now shows no 'IQ routes' :-

Is this just an oversite on the graphic or have they removed it?

3. I'm assuming that the recently purchased 'LIVE' traffic services will still work with the new map both at home and in Europe?

Many thanks for reading so far.

Barry

Hi Barry....
#1 - Don't trust Home to get anything right! (or if it does get it right, it will still tell you something different!)
I have a Go940 and a GO950 and the map folder on the 940 has always been called "Western and Central Europe" while the map folder on the 950 has always been called "Europe"
Whenever I update the maps, I install exactly the same version number of mapping, called "Europe" by Home, but by the time it has gone onto the 940 it's put into the existing Western and Central folder.
So I don't think that's anything to worry about.

#2 Again... don't trust the people who write the description to have any idea! There are many mistakes on the TT website (eg the website said the new VIA live models haven't got SD card slots when they have).
The new maps DO have IQ routing, but if you want to double-check try this...
Get the TT to calculate a "Fastest" route and while its calculating it, look on the route summary screen and it will say "IQ Routes" in the panel on the right.

#3. Yes, they will still work Smile

Alternatively, calculate a "Shortest" route and whilst calculating it will say IQ Routes disabled (and will warn you that you are about to calculate the most terrible route possible). Laughing

Many thanks for the reassurances . . . . and I do appear to have IQ routes.

Thank you for the detailed explanations.
