Beeping every 10 seconds in between specs cameras

I have a TomTom 940 and have just installed Western Europe 875_3675 maps. I lost all the speed camera settings so had to reinstall them.
In between a particular set of specs cameras on the A1 near Leeming Bar in North Yorkshire when I do 50mph (This is the specs speed limit) there is a round 50 sign on the top left hand side and a double beep every 10 secs (approx) If I reduce the speed to 49 mph the beeping stops. I assume this is some sort of alarm to warn of being on the speed limit but it becomes very annoying as the specs are over many miles. I have tried to find out what makes it do this but have not succeeded.
I have gone through specs cameras in other parts of the country and this beeping does not occur.
Anyone give me a clue as to how to disable this beeping?

The overspeed beeping is not possible with the PGPSW database (TomTom don't allow it) so it must be a rare occasion that TT have the specs cameras in their database. It probably doesn't do it on other specs cameras because their database won't have them in Wink

It will definitely be coming from the built-in TomTom camera data.

The worst time you get this constant bleeping is when TT DO have a SPECS camera zone marked where there were roadworks with a reduced speed limit, but they then leave the camera positions in their database for weeks and sometimes months after the roadworks have finished and the speed limit has been returned to normal.

So you can drive along for miles and miles at well under 70 and it constantly warns you that you are driving over 50. Stop it!

You need to switch off those alerts in Main menu / LIVE Services / Safety Alerts and tap on "Disable alerts" (when you've got it in the correct state that button will now say "Enable safety alerts")

I was assuming that Gando already has the PGPSW database as well, but that MIGHT not be the case.

To elaborate on my previous suggestion, it *is* possible to only switch off the SPECS alerts for the TT-supplied data.

Go to the same menu page as above, enable the alerts and the "Change warning preferences" menu option should light up.
Tap on that and you can edit/remove the warnings for each individual camera type.

But better still, turn 'am all off and get the PGPSW database if you haven't already!

Last time I enabled the TT cameras for a giggle, I discovered that their definition of cameras is quite "variable" - in other words, I'd get the same warning for different camera types. I had set them to use different warning sounds for all the many types TT have, but found them giving the same warning for several of them!! What I'm saying is that just turning off the warning for average speed cameras might not be completely successful.

That "Leeming Bar" section of the A1 is weird. The TT camera database has the SPECS with a 50mph limit (yes - they've been there that long!), but the map has a 70mph limit, so you get the "marching ants" slow traffic graphic (both ways) even if you are the only vehicle around. Does wonders for fuel consumption, that section

I have disabled fixed safety cameras only at present and that has got rid of all the beeping at Leeming Bar. Thanks for all the pointers.
Questions that come to mind - if the speed limit is 50mph why does it give an overspeed warning on 50mph?
Why does the TomTom database give the same beep for all cameras at all speeds?
Thank goodness for the PGPSW database - long may it continue - thanks to all the people concerned for keeping it running.
