Hi, I have a VW Passat Sport on order, it's arriving in approx 5 weeks. It's comes with the rns315 sat nav fitted, my question is can I put personal poi's on ? Namely speed cams ?
Any advice gratefully received, Matt _________________ Apple iPhone 5, Navigon, Brodit ProClip Mount |

You can add them to a RNS 510, so I don't see why not.
It is a bit more involved than just copying some files though.
Best port of call is probably the vwnavi.com forums for specialist advice. |

Cheers - i've had a quick look, info seems to be a bit lacking for the DNS-310 though |

Have you tried the same method as for the RNS-510 and using POInspect0r and putting them on SD Card? |

Hi, The short answer is no....
Depending on which software version you get you can't even navigate to a 7 digit postcode let alone put custom poi's on... I'm assuming the cars new so you'll probably have the lastest software (W031), in which case you will be able to use 7 Digit postcodes.
An interesting thread:

I still use my iPhone Navigon software and CamerAlert to take me to where I'm going and the RNS315 and CamerAlert to get me back... Glad I didn't pay for the VW unit. _________________ Apple iPhone 5, Navigon, Brodit ProClip Mount |

Is this the same unit as the Skoda Amundsen?
If so, new software and maps have just been released on SD card. It appears the SD Cards are encrypted and are a one time use only.
I can't find anything anywhere about importing POIs for these though |
