I see today my 1005 offered me 24 updates which turned out to be speed cameras for various countries.
Never had these before....
Only 1 snag....
Desktop app says finished transfer but 1005 says 0:03 remaining...
Also, I thought these were supposed to update via Live Services?
Still stuck at 0:03

I had the cameras and some other update which took 6 minutes to install.
All went ok.
Maybe something to do with a new map on the way?
The web server display stopped at 97%, but Home completed as did my 1000. _________________ GO 620, Tomtom Android EU,

TT 1005 is stuck at 0:02 minutes left downloading the UK cameras only. How can I tell the website to ignore the other countries in future (chances of me driving in Romania are slight)?
[UPDATE] - it finished. TT have adopted the Microsoft method - send the installation counter straight to 99% and leave it there for ages |

My one has not done it again but looking at the TT website speed cameras are supposed to update via live services.
My sub for those does not run out till next year.
The camera alerts do work BTW.

My TomTom is offering me another 24 updates which I guess will be cameras again.
Is this because I don't use it much or do users have to keep docking their device to update the cameras?

See the post above yours... Only the mobile cameras are updated over the air (or supposed to be)
Fixed cameras require a connection via MyTomTom to update. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Sorry, I am getting old
I guess the fixed camera list is larger and is more static so it reduces the demand on the mobile data network by making you take your unit indoors every 2 months...

I'm not complaining but I seem to be receiving almost daily updates for my 1005 at the moment. They seem to vary slightly in size but most seem to be in the order of 1.5- 1.6 Mb although I have had a couple at just a few kbs.
Does anyone know if this is an error or are we relly getting revised data at this sort of interval.

My one again says I have another 24 updates...
This is becoming a pain, why cant it do them over the air?
After all, we have to pay for the wonderful "Live" services...
EDIT: It says 25 this time, I shall hook up and see
EDIT2:
"Speed Cameras Europe - 1 time update", 1.6mb, no other detail given.

Well if it is speed camera updates every few days then surely that isn't a bad thing? You choose to install or not, and if you have the spare few minutes to install, why not have their best, most up to date version?
I guess the only problem I see, is that it would be nice to have a list of whats being updated in myTomTom app (before going to the web-page and connecting your TomTom) then you could decide more quickly in the knowledge it's not a Map or Application update _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Granted, but why cant it do it using the inbuilt mobile phone sim?
I don't know if it is 3G or not but if it was the 1.6Mb download would take less than a minute with a good signal.

I've just received an e-mail reply from TT. They explanied that they have a problem with the software and that they are aware of the problem. Apparently we only need to download the camera database once and then in future it will be updated "over the air". They stated that they will resolve the problem in the next few days and that we should simply ignore the download message from My Tom Tom as long as we have downloaded once.
The e-mail response was very quick and from someone called Raleigh here in the UK. Rather appropriate name I thought.
