My cousin bought a Tomtom 730 here 2years ago. It will not boot up, can hear the drum roll then nothing. Have tried a reset to no avail.
She bought it 2 days before she went home to Australia, and I was able to do a back-up of the unit with explorer before she went and put it on a CD for her.
The only way foward I can see for now is to do a compleate restore from the CD.
The only thing I'm not sure off is, does she just overwrite the program on the 730, or does she have to delete it first. Mike. |

It would be best to Format the 730 before copying the data from the backup. _________________ Richard

1/ Copy the CD contents to the PC hard drive, this ensures the data on the disk is actually readable.
2/ Format the TomTom using FAT32, don't use the "Quick Format" option though as this doesn't work as well.
3/ Copy the contents from the file on the PC (created from the CD Disk in step 1) to the device.
4/ Use the disconnect USB device from my computer option
5/ Let the TomTom boot up and it should be back to where it was on the day you created the back up - Mike |
