We spent a happy almost two hours tonight and I failed.
HOWEVER, on later thinking, I think the problem is the Mac Dot Underscore Files. I can't at the moment get back to Matt to ask, so in the meantime, does anybody know how to get rid of them please? (That's without a PC, just Mac).
I suspect the answer is to download a different unzip program for the Mac, delete the files from the GO950 and do it all again.
(By telephone) We used existing files on his GO, which were in the wrong place (Root, not Europe map), then went to enable them all, warn POIs. They didn't show up or warn in Route Demo and I have since realised that they showed up first in the list of POIs (i.e. before Airport, etc), which surely means Dot Underscore and the reason why they don't show or warn when driving. _________________ Dennis

Thanks Oldboy. Reading the links, I fear this is maybe the time for me to bow out - I'm perfectly able to talk him through stuff by Mac and TomTom, but I'm too much of a learner to try distance guidance with "Terminal.app" which I've never used myself. That and a long distance format of the device are far too dangerous with a comparative novice too, I fear.
Back to the drawing board. _________________ Dennis

Matt, I've been waiting for you to ring me back. Last night I had an offer from a competent Mac user who lives at Oldham and is willing to visit you to see if he can sort it out for you. I won't give him your phone number without your permission first - give the all clear and he'll ring you to set up a meeting. (Do NOT post your phone number on this forum). _________________ Dennis

I expect so - I have passed this on to your potential fairy godfather, so be nice to him when he contacts you. _________________ Dennis
