pcaouolte is right, as a jpg tends to make a mess of the red border which is by default made transparrent by the device.
Follow this link here to see the pgpsw version of the avant in it's bmp format. _________________ Dom

pitmaxbull....
You're right.
That Zaffira icon is correct in that it is an 80x80 24-bit bitmap picture, but for some reason, the TomTom doesn't like the fact that it is only 70dpi.
I up-sampled it to 180 dpi in a PC paint program and it worked fine.
Do you have anything on your PC that can do that?
Otherwise I can email it to you if you PM me with your address. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Hey MaFt
I grabbed the top gear car icon from the thread, however it shows a red border on my TT1.
i resaved it as a BMP, its 80 x80 in size just like the others but i still get the red border.
any ideas _________________ Call Me N3wt for short.....

That's quite common when people make icons...and also if you try to use a .jpg.
The red background needs to be "full red" (i.e. 255,0,0 in RGB values) in order to become transparent on the TomTom.
Most paint programs will blend the red into adjacent pixels, so you will get some which are "almost red" around the edge.
It often takes quite a bit of manual tweaking to get rid of them all.
If you grab the .jpg from a forum post, and convert it back to .bmp a similar thing happens because of the compression used in .jpg.
You really need to source the original .bmp. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

right...so whoever made the icon hasnt done it quite right ?
So i need to tweak it a little, ok fair enuff i can do that i think..just let me grab me paintbrush
actually just thinking..would it be that i downloaded it from the page as a jpg and then opened it and resaved it as a BMP be the issue. _________________ Call Me N3wt for short.....
