My daughter has just got her first scooter, and now wants to "borrow" one of my beloved TomToms....
I'm in the unusual position of having quite a few TT's I could lend her, but not many spare mounts, and I'm struggling to think of where to fix a mount anyway.
I can't modify the bike's "dashboard" really, as it's only leased, so my only option seems to clamp somehow onto one of the vertical rods that have the wing mirrors on.
Before I start scouring the websites, does anyone have any suggestions, please?
Next question is what to put on this mount....
My two best choices are a ONE XL or a Go1000, but I don't trust the stupid "ring mount" of the XL and the 1000 only has a magnet holding it onto its mount.
Would either of these be up to the rigours of being bounced around on a a moped?
I think I would have to come up with some sort of safety chain for it as well. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I wrote up fitting a TomTom to a scooter about 4 years ago, involved making a bracket to fit the bike see Here - Mike |

Thanks both!
I have got two accessible screws on the fairing, so that sort of solution was one I was considering.
But the other worry was waterproofing... I don't have a Rider to give her!
I was expecting I might end up with a RAM-type of mount with two ball-joints on an arm, but I've just found a rather nice looking Arkon mount which includes a showerproof case/
£22.31 from Buybits http://www.buybits.com/product/6520.aspx
I'll probably have to build up the diameter of the wing mirror arm somehow, but a few turns of tape might suffice.
Anyone tried this mount before? _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
