|
|
I've had my Go550Live for just a month and have found it extremely frustrating; it constantly re-boots itself, probably once or twice on every journey of 100 miles or more. I've found it is dependent upon which voice is selected for spoken directions; anything computer generated is OK, but if I select a human voice the unit will re-boot even if the spoken directions are switched off; leaving computer voice for spoken traffic updates. Has this anomaly been spotted/covered before? |

You could try running clearflash.exe or possibly deleting your mapsettings.cfg (if you copied it over from an older map version). There's also a method od tweaking this file by creating a new POI here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com//modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=71517&highlight= |

OK I've run Clearflash 6 times, and deleted the mapsettings file and still having the same problem. Anybody got any other ideas what I could try. Another problem is using the handsfree option; whether making or receiving a call it nearly always freezes and then reboots. This is without doubt the cr*****iest TomTom I have ever had and I'm thinking of ditching it completely, except I would seriously miss the Google Search facility. |

Are you near a road when the reboot happens? I have noticed by process of elimination that my Go 750 Live only reboots when I am not either ON or VERY close to a road - eg if I set a destination while sitting in a shopping centre car park (open air) it will often reboot. Once I am actually driving on a road, it does not do this. _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

My 540 often reboots itself if it loses the SIM connection due to a Vodafone signal deadspot. It took a while to realize this until i noticed it happened almost every time on a certain journey. I stopped in that area and noticed my Vodafone mobile didn't have any signal. Now almost every time i get a reboot it when i'm driving through low population areas - sticks/mountains which are the most likely places to get phone signal deadspots.
It seems to me that the device will tolerate no SIM signal mid-journey for only a shot time. After that it reboots itself in case the problem was caused by itself due something in the SIM/firmware tying up. |

It happens anytime, anyplace. In fact it has become so bad that as soon as I change the voice to a human voice it often reboots immediately! It works fine for days on end so long as I keep it set on a computer voice, albeit with voice guidance switched off. I don't normally have voice guidance on but when I do I would prefer to listen to a human! Homer rules!!!!!! |
