Not a bad effort lads, as already mentioned the volumes need to be equalised, I'm 50% deaf and had turn up the volume to listen to you Darren, but then MaFt was too loud and i had to constantly adjust the volume so as not to disturb the rest of the family.

Content was a bit lacking but as this was just a trial run it was understandable.

Apart from that you get the thumbs up from me Very Happy

All advice is gratefully received, this is an entirely new field for me. To be able to record a Skype call and capture my audio requires some clever software and that, in the main, seem to work well.

We've gone for that as it gives us the maximum flexibility for having group discussions, interviews etc, all a participant needs is Skype.

On the audio front, I've now got a new mic that is an 'end address' type. Only came this morning and already it seems much better at capturing my voice and nothing else, just have to practice keeping close to it.

Where I struggle is in working out where, on the level meters, I should be aiming for, that and the whole 'not speaking at racing speed' Very Happy

Also, I sound much less nasally on this mic so that's a bonus.

It streamed flawlessly, and QuickTime just displayed the audio time bar.

I had no problem catching what you were both saying (but then ever since I was a child I've been accused of speaking too fast too), and noticed neither a marked difference in volumes nor echoes. Maybe that's a benefit of having cheap speakers on my pc!

As far as future podcasts are concerned, I'd be more likely to listen if, rather than an hour, you did half an hour twice as frequently, but maybe my attention span is diminishing with age!

Cheers Andy. I have Soundtrack Pro and that has meters with the db scale so I'll follow your advice and experiment to find optimum settings, distance from mic etc!

My apologies to you all for criticising - I didn't realise it was all db and hzs and stuff - I just thought you sat in a kitchen and spoke at a microphone.

Feel free to get your own back with my very first ever posting on YouTube! The reason you can't spot the camera shake or the odd bit out of focus is that it was night time and there was a power cut.
