I have two toms -- one for the wifes car -- 740L and one for mine 750L
When using my wifes 740L the other-day I noticed that a small roundabout in the village near us was not marked. So I stopped and tried to enter it -via the map correction screen
On my Tom 750L I go to the main menu [2 of 3] and then press the map corrections tick. This takes me to a new screen
and I press the "correct a map error".
This brings me to a new screen [1 of 3] and on the second screen [2 of 3] there is an indication to "Add or remove a roundabout"
I go in to that screen and it asks if you want to "Add or Remove roundabout"
My wifes Tom 740L don't have the add or remove facility for roundabouts.
in fact it only has at the Map corrections screen 1 of 2..
We both have the same software App. 9.058.568435
We both download the "Map corrections - made by others"
Any idea how to get the "missing screen" on the 740L

Do you know, I've had a Go940 and a Go950 for yonks and I've never noticed they were different on these menus...
Thankfully, the solution is simple...
On the Go x40, go to page 2 of 2 on Map corrections, then tap "Report other error". Then on the next menu go to the second page and you'll find "Add or remove roundabout", which then works exactly the same as on the x50.
All the same options are there on both, they are just laid out differently. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Andy, on the x50, is the Add Roundabout also in the REPORT OTHER ERROR section (where a change is not implemented in the user's map) _________________ David |

Thanks - got it now - entered the roundabouts OK.
But I thought they might have come down when they did map updates by others??
been scratching around all evening --
with both toms -- doing the maps..
lost faves on mine
-- but had remembered to save mapsettings file to the desk top prior to downloading the map..
now got v875.3613 on both and App9.058.568435.1 on both
hope we are now sorted.
Thanks again

No, it's not....
Go940 'Correct a map error' menu
(Un)block street
Reverse traffic direction
Edit street name
Change turn restrictions
Change road speed
Add missing POI
Edit POI
Report other error
Report other error takes you to two sub-menus:
Page 1 of 2:
Existing Street
Missing street
City
Comment on POI
Motorway entrance/exit
Page 2 of 2:
Postcode
Add or remove roundabout
Other (where you can just enter a text description)
--------------------------
Go950 'Correct a map error' menu
(Un)block street
Reverse traffic direction
Edit street name
Change turn restrictions
Change road speed
Add or remove roundabout
Add missing POI
Edit POI
Existing Street
Missing street
City
Comment on POI
Motorway entrance./exit
Postcode
Other
The Add/remove roundabout option works the same on both models, i.e. the roundabout isn't shown graphically on your map, but the voice instructions and the ALG graphics in the status bar DO act as if the roundabout is there. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

I think the corrections are very device specific. If you do a correction on your 750 with map 875 it will NOT be downloaded by your wife's 740 with the same map. So at best (if the word "best" can be used where MapShare is concerned!!), you're only getting corrections submitted by other users with exactly the same setup (GO750 with map 875), which rather reduces the impact of the TT hype about getting corrections submitted by millions of users - only TomTom get the millions of corrections!! _________________ Dennis
