Presumably the Active 10 gets the date and time from the satellites, since there doesn't seem to be any way of setting it (other than the offset from UTC)?
Is there any way of checking what it THINKS the date and time to be?
The reason I ask is that I created a trail yesterday (24th September) and my Active 10 has created a file whose name starts with 2011_08_31_1015 which, if that's supposed to be a time and date stamp, is 24 days and several hours out!
Can anyone shed any light on this? _________________ Roger

To answer my own question, I created another trail this morning - and the date and time of the file were correct!
I assume that what happened last time was that I turned the trip log on BEFORE getting a GPS fix - and that it stamped the file with the date and time of the last time it had a fix - which could well have been 24 days earlier.
I'd still like to know whether it's possible to display the current date and time, though. I note that the GPS Status page displays UTC time (but no date) but that doesn't take account of any offset in order to display local time so that, even in the UK where we use GMT (=UTC), it's wrong for over half the year whilst summertime (daylight saving time) applies. _________________ Roger

You can get the Satmap to display date and/or time using the Settings / Data Box Layout options. The many options for the data boxes include date and time. These will then show on map view by toggling the bottom button on the left hand side. |

Ah, yes - that seems to work - many thanks! _________________ Roger
