But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!
I appreciate your advice and will start being more mature towards this. luckly Mike Downloaded the cams on to my wifes tt so that should get us from Barcelona to Costa Brava. Do you think its possible to re calibrate my 950 after my hols or is that a job for tt?
Thanks for your help and advice.

Well, it depends on the state of what the 950 is in. But with luck, it should be possible to at least get it into some sort of working state. I hesitate to indicate how in case you start trying stuff yourself again, but it'll be first recover TT Home (if you've lost that), then recover the working bits of the 950, then recover the maps. But it all depends, so for goodness sake leave it alone. _________________ Dennis

Switch your wifes One Third Edition on then tap the sat strength meter (lower right corner of the screen) followed by the version box half way down on the right side of the screen, the resultant page of information will tell you whether its UK&ROI or Western_Europe, if its just UK&ROI it won't show any mapping in Spain - Mike

Just a quick update, I lent Matt my 950 earlier today to take on holiday he gave me his 950 to see if it can be recovered, with no back up it was going to be "fun"
Thankfully all the original folders and files were in the "Trashes" folder (device was used with a MAC) so file recovery was straight forwards, a new Navcore download from the server at TomTom and the device is sat here working quite happily.
Matt, when you get back from your trip give me a shout to swap the units back again - Mike
Thanks Andy had a great holiday in Costa Brava, but a sticky start with a 5 hour delay in Manchester and got to Barcelona at 11.30pm so had to wait till 7am for the car hire!!!
A BIG Thanks to Mike for fixing my TT,
Im Still trying to get the cams on to my TT.
Ive got as far as copy and pasting 128 files into Europe the one that contains cline.dat, cname.dat and then i got to this part that Dennis said:::"When it says you can now disconnect your device do NOT disconnect your device - sit and wait until your 950 boots up and asks again if you wish to connect to computer, this time answer NO. When the map appears on the 950, then you can switch off the 950 and disconnect it from the applemac and then close the computer program TomTom Home"::
But for some reason the cams don't appear on my "warn when near poi" TT? is it jinxed or am i a plonker?!

Dennis is just spelling out the way he does it...
What you need to know is that Windows often LOOKS like it has finished copying stuff to external USB devices, when in fact it hasn't. So if you disconnect before it has really finished, you can corrupt things.
Personally, once I have clicked on "Safely remove hardware" and it has said it's safe to remove, I reckon that's good enough for me.
Now, why are you STILL having problems?
I dunno... But why not just play with ONE set of poi files for now until you've got it working properly.
E.g. take
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.bmp
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ogg
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30.ov2
and
pocketgps_uk_gatso_30_X2.bmp
and copy those to the map folder for the map you are currently using.
On a 950 it will be called "Europe" or maybe "Western and Central Europe".
See if you can get just that one showing in the menus before getting bogged down with all the rest.
Can you see it in "Show POI on map"? (that's in a different place in the menus to "Warn when near POI") _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

Yep, you're a plonker.
I have edited the quote above to insert a bunch of red asterixes. That is the point at which, having disconnected the TT from the Mac, you then go to the instructions page here (which link I gave you previously) and go to instruction number 5.
I repeat, you are too often telling us not enough - you have to say what you've done and where it went wrong. In your quote above, it would appear that you stopped after disconnecting it from your Mac, but didn't follow the installation instructions number 5 and onwards (so quite obviously the cameras wouldn't warn!!).
Go to those instructions now and try them. _________________ Dennis
