I have an ageing TT 700 which has been working well up to me upgrading to a mac . I have mastered the download issue and there seems to be no problem in installing the cameras into the TT, however, when I look in the POI page on the TT it shows that all the cameras have been installed and they are all ticked off as usual but when I browse the map they are not showing and indeed do not show when passing along the road. Can anybody say if this is a mac issue or a camera data base issue or indeed a me issue, help would be appreciated.

It can't be a Mac issue per se, because lots of people use Macs to install the database OK (including most of the PGPSW admin team AFAIK)
And it can't be the database as no-one else is complaining it doesn't work with their Mac.
So.... you know what's coming, don't you!
You say it's all been OK in the past, so you know how to install and set up all the warnings?
Are you sure you still have the warnings set up? If you go to Manage POIs / Warn when near POI, 1. are all the camera categories showing there? And 2. do they all have little loudspeaker signs beside them?
If you can't say yes to either 1 or 2, then you haven't copied them onto the TomTom correctly
If you can say yes to 1 but not 2 you've installed them OK, but not done the warnings for them.
If you can say yes to 1 and 2 we'll have to think some more.... _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

Thanks Andy but the answer is yes to both. The cameras are showing on my TT complete with loudspeakers but do not appear on the map view even when I zoom in. I have recently updated my TT map but surely TT haven't done anything to block them. |

And that may be the key. Are you quite certain you don't now have two maps installed and the POIs are in the older map's folder?
I'd start afresh if I were you. Remove all the existing POIs and start from the beginning. You either have two many POIs installed or something more basic has gone wrong. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren, Only had 2 maps installed but uninstalled the old one and deleted all the poi via TThome. Reinstalled latest cameras and went through the ticking of boxes ect. all cameras are visible in the show poi option and speakers are visible alongside the cameras but still not showing on the map |

They should do... so long as you are zoomed in far enough AND you have them selected to show (Browse map / Options / tick POIs)
EDITED - because I was spouting garbage about newer models and Traffic which are irrelevant here with a Go700!
This has got to be something obvious that we're all missing so far _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

How many POI groups do you have installed? Do you have many others over and above the PocketGPS Speedcam POIs? Also, have you tried a reset using the tiny rest hole underneath? _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK, one other possible issue that springs to mind, and is Mac related. The Mac's filesystem has an invisible files for some filetypes such as bitmaps. These are known as Dot Underscore files because they share the same name as file but preceded with a ._
When you copy a file to a non Mac system such as your GO, or a PC, these files are also copied in some circumstances and can show up on the device.
I'm wondering if this is related here? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ignore that last bit about download history (I'd deleted it before your reply). That is a side effect of an issue we had this morning with one of our servers and we're working to correct that at the moment. _________________ Darren Griffin |
