|
|
Sent my Satmap back to be repaired a little while ago as the USB rubber seal had broken after only using it a couple of times and the Rechargeable battery not working.
On a nice sunny day today i decided to use it for the 1st time since.
Looking at the screen everything looked fine. However when i put sunglasses on the screen at the bottom looked like a blur of colours. Abit like if you were to press down on a laptop screen or monitor.
Strange because you only notice it with sunglasses on.
Anyone had the same problem or ideas as to whats happened??
I did take it out once before it was repaired and it was a damp day.Only for a couple of hours and would take it out of its carry case for a couple of minutes to check the route then put it back again. Its always got a screen cover on too. |

Are you wearing polarised sunglasses that you havn't worn before? Sometimes these give that sort of effect on display screens. Does the 'blurring' move so the clear bits go dark and the previously dark bits go clear if you rotate the satnav? If so it's deffo the sunglasses being polarised that's causing it. |

WOW how strange. Thanks ever so much for that.
I was wearing a new pair of Oakleys ive not worn before. Then i tried on a pair of cheap sunglasses i have and no screen issues.
When i turned the Satmap on its side with the Oakleys you couldnt see the map at all.Just a blur of colour and mostly black covering 3/4 of the screen.
Then turn it upside down and its like it is when its the right way up.
Phew and i thought my screen was knackered
Thanks again |

All LCDs have a polarising filter, look at them through a second polarising filter and you can get all sorts of weird effects |
