I saw a Navman Panaromic in Halfords today, and have been l
searching PGPSW for a review, but I can't find anything about it.

Can anybody help please. Has it been reviewed?

Thanks

I don't believe there is a review for that device here, but to be truly honest Navman have somewhat lost their way a bit over the last few years. That and being bought out by Mio we were hoping for some good things but alas no.

I think the lack of reviews should answer any questions you may have!

Navman have essentially been non-existant for some time now since they were rebranded as Mio about a year ago (the company which bought them). Pior to this, when they were first bought by Mio, hey were still being sold as Navman units.

The simple fact that it is a Navman device and not a Mio device should tell you the maps will be at least 2 years old (device is 1 yr old at least, possibly more, and the maps are usually always at least 6 months old when you buy them).

Take a look at my recent review of the Mio Spirit here: http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/mio-spirit-687-review-92rX5.php

While it's a different device, the more recent Navman devices used the same menus and operating system as the Mios so will give you a bit of an idea.

Basically, they're slow, sluggish and not as good as they once were Sad

Correction: looks like they are still producing them as Navman units afterall.

Example http://www.navman.com/en-gb/navman-tourer.htm is exactly the same as the Mio Spirit 687 I reviewed.

Going back to the Panoramic, have you read the customer reviews on the site? Pretty much what I found with the Mio - slow and sluggish...

At £99 (See the Navman 679 at Argos) its good value with a big screen, VERY easy and quick to use, good routing, clear visuals and up to date maps

On the downside, text to speech is a little dated, maps a little slow although okay, and poor map updating service from Mio if you are interested in that

But for £99 it can tick a lot of boxes

Thanks. Actually its not the price that I'm worried about (although it's important). I'm more concerned with the 'front end' and the functions.

I think I'm going for a TT825.

At £99 its a snap, but actual A to B will be better on the TomTom - its HD Traffic and Routing is the best out there - I have up to date Garmin, Navigon and Navman (well 575 unit) as well as a TomTom 1000 and the TomTom routes me best - although as always there are features on all of them I would like to see in another

If you are prepared to pay the extra your TomTom won't disappoint

Thanks for that. Do you have any problems installing the PGPSW camera database on the TT1000?

Its a breeze with the new MyTomTom, including custom icons (on map and warning symbol top LHS) and custom voice warnings - all supplied from PGPSW

The Panoramic with 7" screen is good and clear.
Also you can add Truck mode for trucks or caravan towing for £70 and the traffic alerts is and extra £50

The menu does look the same as the S505 device so has a lot packed inside.
