Have been waiting for latest map to upgrade during my 90 days. Currently I have v865. I see that new version is out but when I go to see what's available to me it still shows 870 waiting. Any idea's please why its not offering 875.
.
Thanks.

It seems to take a day or two (or more?) before a new map is offered under LMG.

Just FYI I managed to update my Via Live 120 to 875 using LMG yesterday.

If not done already, try Empty Cache, then Save Settings - it will reset MyTomTom and probably find the update for you...

Further advise please....
.
Spoken to TT about not getting v875. The operator maintains that I am only entitled to v870. This, the latest version offered when I activated the device. 870 being the later map than 865 on the device. He was adamant that I am not entitled to 875.
I thought as long as you do not D/L the latest offered you can wait until a newer version comes along and in my case within your 90 day period.
.
Is this correct, have I been under the wrong impression?
.
Thanks

I got my Via Live 120 on the 20th July and deliberately waited until the 875 maps were released before updating the map under LMG. The only difference I can think of is that I didn't apply any updates until 875 was released e.g. navcore etc.

A lot of users used to wait until they knew the new map was available before connecting the device to the old TomTom Home system which seemed to work. With the newer MyTomTom interface I am not too sure if it looks at the date the device was first used or whether its down to when you connected it to the PC.

Eitherway if you used it prior to the V875 map being released the TomTom CS chap is correct and you are entitled to the V870 map, to be honest I wouldn't get too hung up about map issues as little changes from one release to the next.

If having the very latest map is something you value then consider buying in to the map update scheme for the device where you get the next 12/ 18 months of map releases - Mike

I agree, I haven't seen many changes since 870 but now is the perfect time for you to upgrade to a subscription - its under £20 for 12 months + 6 months free (6 map updates) and that way you keep up to date for very little (about a £1 / month)

If you wait until the next map comes out, you will have to pay the £20 subscription plus a new map cost (around £30) to bring you up to date

Pricing based on UK and Ireland mapping

But as the OP does not have the latest map 8.75, won't a quarter price map upgrade cost be charged?

I thought you could go to the next, but not miss a map out - if that makes sense???

If this is not the case, then it seems very expensive compared with Navigon and Garmin offerings... if it is then its good value

The 6 for 4 offer ended on 15th August, unless it has been extended again.

Sure it won't be too long before it - or something similar - is back. Give the new maps a few weeks to settle down and they will be promoting again
