My 950 is not recognized by my computer, it shows a icon in my computer for tomtom fat 32 but there is no data on it and when I try to paste a copy of my backup it says this item is no longer on the computer. I have tried resetting by holding the on button down but every time I connect it to the computer I just get a red x.
DOES THIS MEAN THE UNIT IS USELESS NOW?
Please help.

9.061 is not the correct/current navcore for an x50 It should be 9.058
Maybe try a different USB port or lead? |

Get a MicroSD card of at least 4GB in capacity and copy your back up to the card, insert the memory card to the device and let it boot up, it sounds like the internal memory and/ or the USB interface has failed, using a card reader and memory card usually fixes this issue and keeps the device working for a bit longer - Mike |

Thank you for your help Mike, but should I do this when I only bought the unit on 04 July 2011 from Pixmania ? Should it not be under warranty.
FranB
I have tried different usb ports and 3 different pcs. The details I put on the bottom of my question was printed from my tomtom the last time i did a backup.

If you don't want to do what Mike suggests, just return it under warranty.... _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |

At one month old its a no-brainer, send it back and get a replacement - Mike |

Thank you every one for your help, I thought it might be something simple, but after contacting Tomtom we have decided to return it. |
