although my blue traffic bar has returned, when i tap on it i just get the message that 'this service is unavailable in your country or region'. petrol prices, weather etc all work ok??
i can't believe that yesterday when i was on the phone to tomtom and the cs guy was consulting with 'higher up' support that the system bein g down was not even considered.
i have now arranged to send my unit back to amazon (advised by tomtom) and have ordered a replacement unit. probably find my original unit was fine all along!!!
i hope this is not a sign of how this service normally operates otherwise i could have saved my money and bought a non-LIVE version of the tomtom? |

My GO 940 is not working correctly either. Started the whole 'this service is unavailable in your country or region' issue yesterday and still have the problem this morning!
As I write this, I have no traffic bar on the display! Thankfully I do not need my Tomtom today or tomorrow!

When TT break things they like to do it in style, I see there are reports of the service not working in the US and Belgium as well.
Based on my previous experiences, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to be fixed either.
What really irks me, as someone has already mentioned is that they get you to jump through hoops in terms of resetting your own unit etc etc, but never seem to admit any fault at their end.
Seems to be commonplace with big companies these days, recently had trouble with my internet at home, and AOL had me doing all sorts of things, including changing filters, unscrewing telephone sockets etc etc, then after an hour of such fun, they finally do a line test and find that there is a fault on the line. |

I'm not sure if this helps, but I have no problems with HD traffic. I'm based in North Yorkshire and using a 1005. I obviously don't know if TT have different servers for different systems; seams unlikely, but I've been outside my region on several occaisions during the last week or so and no problems of any sort.

Go Live 750 here and also getting the message along the lines of"This service not available in the area you are in" Subscription runs out next week and was in the process of renewing, but still valid. Started yesterday afternoon too and still not working. Google, weather etc all work OK.
Managed to speak to TT customer support and they have confirmed that the problem is their end and they hope to have it fixed either later today or early tomorrow. |

Thanks for the info alrobbo.
TT have now posted a response on the official TT forum board
Hi guys,
Sorry for the delay in responding to this thread.
HD Traffic services are currently not available in the following European countries: Germany, France, and United Kingdom.
The HD Traffic service will resume as soon as possible.
Not great timing on their part, they e-mailed me yesterday to remind me that my subscription runs out in August!
Doesn't make me want to rush to renew.
Also I see thay've done a deal with the Highways Agency to get data from them.
If the TT servers can't cope with the existing level of data, I can only see things getting worse! |

Mine is due at beginning of August - needless to say I am waiting to see if it recovers before parting with cash
But at least TomTom have a warning now on the support pages about it being down _________________ J. |

Still not working here! The same message about not available in your country or region. BUT the traffic bar is now dark blue as if it is working, yesterday it kept going a lighter blue or just failing to connect altogether.
Time to log a support call and get some free HD Traffic days added to my subscription .......... |

Not working on my 550 Live between Bristol and Swansea today. I guess that's because they have been busy trying to get me to resubscribe for my XLLive which expired yesterday.
Dear Dennis, please resubscribe to our Live services which aren't working. _________________ Dennis

No I don't. I haven't used my XL Live for quite some time now, even considered offering it for sale. I still have the sticky thing on the dashboard to use for a cable guide for all the others, but I gave up on it when it just kept crashing so regularly. I don't suppose it'll crash now if the Live services have died. I'm down to just three now, although admittedly that's mainly because I've run out of plug'oles! _________________ Dennis
