|
|
I'm just wondering if anyone else is finding more and more frequently that they are unable to update their device through the Home application.
For the past couple of days Home has been just crawling along at a snails pace, near enough 100% CPU Usage, eventually finding updates, then when accepting the updates simply sitting there with a near enough blank window other than "Getting Updates Automatically".
Has TomTom got issues, or has my aging XP Desktop finally become too slow to run Home anymore. I'm suspecting TomTom have isues but I can't see it reported elsewhere? _________________ A Happy user of...

I've had no problems recently updating my 720 with Mapshare corrections. Tried again just now and it was fine. _________________ Anita

Thanks Anita, further investigation a little later today is pointing to a USB Port issue on my trusty old desktop PC.
The updates flew through when I tried things on my laptop.
Thanks for the reply. _________________ A Happy user of...

Interesting....
I'm having similar issues. Home takes a huge amount of time to show anything on screen when I select "Update my device", shows very high CPU activity and often fails to download stuff (such as camera updates) unless I split the download into smaller chunks.
All my USB ports seem fine otherwise though. Did you do any clever diagnostics to find that was the problem?
Out of interest, how much free disk space do you have on the C: drive of the PC with problems? I need to do a complete re-install with a bigger drive, but am dreading it, so am struggling on with "just" a few gigs of space, which just doesn't seem enough these days. _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
